“ What an atmosphere to hang out at one of the really cool old banks that was converted into a restaurant. The staffing was amazing. I was attentive, and the food quality was poor presentable. I would recommend visiting her again. It’s great that it’s close to the Benamor house and C around especially when the weather is nice. There is a really neat photo booth at the back you should check out. ”

“ Rivera is truly an amazing dinner spot in Ottawa.The drinks menu was impressive, with an array of fancy cocktails that were almost too beautiful to drink.Our server helped us choose the perfect drinks to pair with our meal, and they did not disappoint. But the real star of the show was the food. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, and the flavors were simply divine. From the appetizers to the entrees, every bite was a delight.And then there was the ambience - fancy, elegant, and sophisticated. The dim lighting, plush decor, and soft music created a warm and intimate atmosphere that made us feel like royalty.Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch dinner or date spot. The combination of exceptional food, drinks, and atmosphere makes it a truly unforgettable experience. It’s a bit on the pricey end and definitely need table reservation if you go on a weekend. ”

“ I think Shady is his name, which was our server, and he was really personable. I shared that we were in a time crunch, and he made sure to have our dishes out and check dropped in a timely manner that didn't feel rushed. The place is a little close but still easy enough to hear each other when it was very busy. The ambiance is romantic, and observing the bartenders is an enjoyable pastime. The food is incredible. The Hamachi Crudo was my favorite. I was not a fan of Caviar before but decided to try it because if Riviera is serving it, it must be good, right? And it was! It absolutely made me a fan. The mushroom toast was delightful and rich. The burger was described as a Big Mac on steroids, and I 100% agree. It was so delicious. Last but not least is the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Order it! If you haven't been then you need to go. ”

“ One of the best experiences I’ve had! Family was in town visiting and made a reservation. The service, music, atmosphere and food were all outstanding and far beyond my expectations! If you truly want to experience a spectacular evening in Ottawa go here!! We will definitely be back!! Absolutely loved it! We were a group of 4 and we ordered 2 raw dishes, 2 apps and each had a main, all were mind blowing! The sommelier was super, finding the most perfect wines for us, not pretentious, extremely knowledgeable. ”

“ Had an amazing evening here! The food, service, and ambiance were all fantastic. Loved the wide selection of drinks, and I really appreciated them changing the cutlery—such a nice touch! The beef tartare was incredible, and the Pear Pressure cocktail was delicious. Ended the meal on a sweet note with a lovely pavlova. Highly recommend! :) ”

“ Had an amazing dinner at Riviera, which has been a restaurant that I’ve been meaning to try for a while now. Service was phenomenal, the servers are very attentive and gave a lot of great suggestions. Cocktail list is huge and the cocktails we got were really creative. Oysters were very fresh and we loved the hot sauce that came with it. The ravioli was amazing, probably my favourite dish! The filling was delicious, ravioli was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was so light and complimented the rich ravioli. Steak frites were also really good. Steak was cooked perfectly to medium rate, fries were really crisp, and the fried sage leaves added a nice flavour to the fries. They also have a Photo Booth in the back which is really fun! ”

The space itself is simply stunning—elegant, moody, and refined, with a character that feels far more cosmopolitan than what one might typically associate with Ottawa. It’s easy to forget where you are. And the food—wow. Every dish was beautifully crafted and full of flavour, with a perfect balance of creativity and comfort. You can tell there’s serious talent in the kitchen. I spent a wonderful evening there with friends, and it’s safe to say this won’t be my last visit. Riviera is an experience worth repeating. Ottawa is lucky to have a spot like this. ”
